4 Day . Plein-Air Landscape Painting in Salida, Colorado

In this workshop, designed for beginning to intermediate landscape painters, Susan will place emphasis on developing correct concepts and skills in order to organize and simplify the large landscape masses into an exciting design.
Natural laws of light, values, color in perspective, edges, creating emphasis and movement through the painting will be explored. Always in the forefront is the idea that the job of an artist is to first learn the craft, as knowledge is power with the end goal in mind that art is more than imitation.
The first day I will be giving a lecture, doing a demo, and you will be doing some exercises to prepare you for this outdoor landscape workshop.
Daily demonstrations are in oil and critiques are given everyday.
We will paint from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m daily.
